DEPARTMENT OF TRANSNATIONAL ASIAN STUDIES

Giving

Our transnational approach to Asian Studies offers a novel lens through which we teach and research the peoples, ideas, practices, and cultures of Asia, including immigrant communities across the globe. Courses within the Department’s major or minor explore demographic movements and migrations, medicine and technology, religion and philosophy, trade and political formations. In addition to offering wide-ranging, multi-dimensional courses in both the humanities and social sciences, the department is itself a community, as it includes the student-run Rice Asian Studies Organization, which publishes the Rice Asian Studies Review

Your support enriches the student experience within the department of Transnational Asian Studies. Gifts to the Department fund teaching collaborations, student and faculty research, and support preserving the historical fabric of Asian culture.
